Images of the 1937 Vanderbilt Cup Race from the Works Progress Administration (WPA)
Florence Ogg, former Director of Collections and Archives of the Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum, has forwarded links to photos of the 1937 Vanderbilt Cup Race from the collection of the NYC Municipal Archives Collections.
The photographer for these images was employed by the Federal Writers' Project of the Work Progress Administration and were intended for a "New York City Guide". The Federal Writers' Project provided employment for historians, teachers, photographers, writers, and librarians.
