Hold the Date:11/20/14: “A Tribute to Henry Austin Clark, Jr & the Long Island Automotive Museum”


Please join the Long Island Motor Parkway Preservation Society for a very special evening paying tribute to Henry Austin Clark, Jr. and his memorable Long Island Automotive Museum. Walt McCarthy and Walt Gosden will discuss the life and times of this Long Island automobile icon using their own personal experiences, photos and films.

The meeting will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2014 beginning at 7:30 pm at the auditorium at Bethpage Public Library, 47 Powell Avenue, Bethpage, NY. Everyone is welcome to the meeting. Please bring your friends and neighbors.

Shucks.  Wish I could make it.  I hope it is video-taped.  Went there when I was 10-years-old, and had a memorable ride in the Shady Hollow fire truck!

There was a time in the mid ‘70s before vintage racing got going that Austin offered to store and display in his museum my 1962 SCCA BP race car, old # 69 that I got from Frank Dominianni.  Can furnish photos and add to the story if there might be interest.  Unfortunately I will not be able to make the meeting.  Got this notice via Howard Kroplick.  Thx
