Highlights from the Town of North Hempstead 6th Annual FunDay Monday Antique Car Show

It is always a fun day when you combine a salute to our Veterans and vintage automobiles.  Indeed, it was a wonderful day yesterday in Port Washington with over 1,500 people and 45 automobiles participating at North Hempstead Beach.

Kudos to the Town of North Hempstead and the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America Queens Chapter for a very special event.

Enjoy,

Howard Kroplick

Salute to our Veterans

All branches of our Armed Forces were represented.

Supervisor Judi Bosworth and town officials paid tribute.

Just some of the Veterans at the FunDay ceremony.

1963 Mustang III Concept Show Car and the 1966 Shelby Mustang GT350-H

I brought my favorite two Mustangs to FunDay.

Nassau Legislator Ellen Birnbaum and me.

Town Photographer John Meehan took  the following photos of the 1963 Mustang III Concept Show Car.

According to Ford Motor Company,  the 260 cubic-inch engine of the Mustang III  "was bored out to 302 cubic-inches and a trio of two-barrel carburetors were installed, making this effectively a prototype for one of the most beloved engine configurations in Mustang history."

Gene Kennedy and I checking out the three carburetors.

Thanks!

Paul Pardes, organizer of the FunDay car show for the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America Queens Chapter, presented this plaque from the AACA Greater New York Region and President Mike Sussman for "outstanding contribution to the Antique Automotive History".

Much appreciated!
