Author and Ford Insider John Clor Salutes the 1963 Mustang III Concept Show Car in Niagara

The 1963 Mustang III Concept Show Car made its first appearance at a national Mustang show last weekend at Mustangs on the Niagara held at Grand Island, New York. One of the highlights of the weekend for me was meeting John Clor, enthusiast communications manager for Ford Performance and author of Mustang 2015: The New Generation.

Enjoy,

Howard Kroplick

Mustangs on the Niagra National Car Show, Grand Island, New York

Over 420 Mustangs participated in this wonderful national Mustang Club of America Car Show hosted by the Western New York Shelby and Mustang Club.

The Mustang III was not judged by the Mustang Club of America since there are no standards for the 15 pre-production 1963 Mustangs.

John Clor informed me that the 1963 Mustang III was already part of his presentation to be given at the banquet later that evening.

Saturday Night Banquet

The banquet held at the wonderful Buffalo Transportation  Pierce Arrow Museum was sold out.

A section of John Clor's presentation highlighted "The Mustangs That Never Were."

The Mustang III "Shorty" was featured on this slide with a four-door Mustang and the Pegasus.

John Clor: "The Mustang III- called Shorty. It was here today! Did you see it? It is a fantastic example of Ford history that could have happened."

Wow Howard, what an exciting time you had,it must have been the most mustangs you have ever seen,it’s the first time I have ever seen a 4 door mustang. Even though you didn’t win anything, you met some important people and they saw your car and recognized it,by talking about it in the presentation. You always get something out of the shows you go to.
